Sr. Violet Augustus is a Research Nurse and Study Coordinator in the Reproductive Medicine and Andrology Units at Groote Schuur Hospital, University of Cape Town. She specializes in reproductive medicine, fertility nursing, patient-centered care, and research coordination in Assisted Reproductive Technology. Her experience includes coordinating fertility treatment pathways, clinical research, participant recruitment, regulatory and ethics processes, patient education, and reproductive health outreach in public and academic settings. She works with clinicians, embryologists, researchers, nursing teams, and international partners to strengthen research participation and improve care delivery. She currently serves as Study Coordinator for the Genetic Associations of Infertility in Africa Study. She is also a Board Member of the South African Society of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy and an ESHRE-Certified Nurse. Her focus areas include fertility nursing development, mentorship, patient advocacy, psychosocial support, research nursing, quality improvement, and nurse-led education and leadership in ART services across Africa.
