Barr. Undiga Emuekpere

Undiga Emuekpere is a Nigerian fertility lawyer with expertise in international surrogacy and donor conception. She holds an LL.B from the University of Nigeria, an LL.M from Queen Mary University of London, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000. She is the Principal and Lead Consultant at Ôka’mara Law & Consulting, where she practises as an international fertility law expert and consultant. Her work focuses on the legal aspects of assisted conception, including international surrogacy, donor conception, adoption, posthumous conception, and cross-border parentage documentation. Undiga is also the Convener of the Nigeria Assisted Parenthood Forum, a platform for education and advocacy concerning surrogacy, donor-conception and adoption. Undiga advises intending parents, clinics, agencies and other stakeholders on fertility-related legal processes in Nigeria, with particular emphasis on surrogacy arrangements, gamete donation, legal documentation, immigration and citizenship issues for surrogate-born and donor-conceived children, and compliance with Nigerian and international legal requirements. She is a member of the Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH), Nigeria, and regularly contributes to education, policy and stakeholder engagement in the field of assisted reproduction and fertility law.
